Navy ASP and EMSP
SDA engineers and technicians support Navy ASP and EMSP systems including the AN/UYS-1(V), AEGIS, AN/BSY-1(V), AN/BSY-2(V), AN/SQQ-89(V), and AN/UYK-44/43(V). With over 75 man years experience, SDA performs on site field changes and field repairs, reviews technical documentation, assists resolution of production issues, manages component obsolescence, participates in Design Reviews, and performs Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) electrical, mechanical and thermal management design tasks. In addition SDA installs equipment required to analyze, evaluate, or test components, modules or systems, for AN/UYS-1(V), AN/UYS-2 and AN/UYS-2A equipment during field changes or retrofits. SDA performs Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) Waiver/Deviation analysis and assists issue resolution in the areas of component technology insertion, reliability, and obsolescence risk assessment.
Examples of specific tasks performed include test program development and AN/UYS-1 Backplane testing, design, manufacture and test of special tools and fixtures to aid the field support of AN/UYS-1, 2, and 2A systems, and enclosure and power supply design for a VME circuit card COTS insertion evaluation effort.
