Systems Engineering
In many cases, projects do not recognize the importance of sound systems engineering capability. The typical assumption is that competent personnel assigned to each project area will guarantee that all pieces fit together and work as required. Unfortunately, far too many projects do not meet schedule and budget requirements or fail altogether because the systems engineering task was not properly staffed or not even included. The systems engineer's responsibility is to insure that all pieces interface correctly and the complete system operates as required in the intended environment. This requires a solid understanding of all facets of the project without becoming immersed in every detailed design issue.
Planning and Project Management are two very important systems engineering functions. A project plan must be developed, from which a detailed project schedule can be derived. Sufficient planning is critical to insure that required tasks and responsibilities are clearly defined prior to the start of activities. Requirements definition or requirements documents must exist or be created that clearly describe the expectations for form, fit, and function. SDA is prepared to provide experienced systems engineering personnel capable of planning and managing your project.
